The Adventures Outdoor Klub braved a the conditions of a relatively harsh winter for the area to travel to Hurricane Ridge for a snowshoe hike on Saturday, Feb 18. The club, headed by Oliver Lawrence, gets together many times a month.

“We can do any trip we want. But if we want to be sponsored by the college to pay for transportation and snowshoes we need to get confirmation with the ASC beforehand,” stated Lawrence on the protocol for getting a hiking event off the ground. “The planning process is first figuring out transportation, assuming we can get funding from ASC. If so, we hire a driver and a van pool. If not, ask participants if they can help carpool.”

The club plans on exploring Deer Lake on Saturday, March 11, and Hurricane Ridge once more, Saturday, March 18.

They have a litany of hikes planned for the spring quarter. Visit their Facebook page, Peninsula College Adventures Out

door Klub (AOK) for more information.
