Peninsula College hosted the Fall Quarter Jazz Ensemble concert the evening of November 28.

The event was directed by Dr. David P. Jones in the Maier Performance Hall.

Jones teaches several classes available at PC throughout the year.

The first song of the evening was dedicated to the founders daughter, who came to enjoy her very first concert that evening.

A series of jazz pieces was conducted by Jones throughout the evening, dating from 1936 to 2017.

Jones also included two of his own compositions and an original arrangement of Joe Zawinul’s “A Remark You Made”.

The night also featured performances by  vocalist alongside the jazz band sung by Robin Eaves, Olga Pelenga and Clare Wegener.

Two of the three vocalists also assisted the ensemble in other pieces.

Palenga performance included pieces on the clarinet and piano

Wegener also aided in  performaning on the euphonium and percussion.

The night also included an electrifying solo performance by Kate Powers on the electric violin.

Meier performance hall was nearly full throughout the entire evening.

Patrons were drawn to the hall by the live jazz experience offered annually.

The cheerful crowd awarded the hardworking Peninsula College Jazz Band multiple times with hearty applause.
