Tidepools submissions sought for 2015

By Joseph Laungayan

Peninsula College Tidepools Magazine and Peninsula Daily News team up to give writers and photographers a chance to have literary and artistic works published for the opportunity to win cash prizes.
Young writers and artists will have the opportunity to win in their age appropriate category.
Age categories are separated into nine and under, 10-13 and 14-17. Each youth category will compete for a $25 first place prize.
First, second and third place prizes are guaranteed a published spot in the Tidepools Magazine.
Every youth in Clallam and Jefferson County is eligible to enter the contest with their own original work in photography, art, digital art or writing.
Adults from Clallam and Jefferson County have the opportunity to compete in the same areas of interest as the youth and can add their original works in a few extra areas such as poetry, prose, and fine art. The prize for first place in the adult category is $100.
The entry fee for youth is $4 and $6.50 for adults.
There is also a chance to just have work published for those who do not wish to compete in the contest. If this is the case you will not be charged a fee.
Entries must be postmarked by Friday Jan. 16, 2015 to be considered for this contest.
Submissions can be emailed to or hand delivered to Tidepools at Peninsula College 1502 E. Lauridsen Blvd., Port Angeles, WA 98362. For email submissions go to www.tidepoolsmagazine.com for instructions.
Submissions are judged blind. Names cannot appear anywhere on the work.
Winners will be announced, Friday March 20, 2015.
