Campus Voices: Can you speak to how scheduling conflicts may have affected your academic plan?

I had that problem when I was starting out in hospitality and ecotourism field. A lot of the 101 classes weren’t avaiable at that time, so I had to jump forward to take future classes and then go back to fill in the pre-requisite knowledge I needed.

I’ve had it pretty good, my ad- visor really pays attentions and looks really far in advance to make sure all my classes lined up and found times when others weren’t at the same time. Thank you, Jen- nifer Santry!

Scheduling conflicts have forced me to finagle my schedule around so I can take classes I need and not meaningless ones to stay a fulltime student so as to stay on the esports team. Keeping up that 12 credit re- quirement is an inconvenient issue.

I wanted to take the Shakespeare English classes, but it’s only available occasionally. There were a couple abnormal psyche classes I had to wait around to get into.

A lot of the mainstream classes like the natural sciences and social sciences are all offered in a three- hour brick in the morning, so if you only have two or three left that you need, you sometimes need to skip a class you want or wait an- other quarter because they’re all at the same time.

It was really difficult getting pre-requisites done for the Nurs- ing Program. If you didn’t make it into some of the classes right away, you’d have to wait until the next year. Even waiting a quarter can put you a year behind getting into the program.
